Happy Mother's Day and DWM

I hope all the moms out there had a wonderful Mother's day.  It was a be cool and breezy here in the Midwest so I opted for some indoor activity.  What better indoor activity than quilting :)  I finished the top for one of my H2H quilts, so that makes to tops done.  And the blocks for the 3rd.  Not bad for a laid back quilting weekend.
Double D9P
This is my last d9p.  I did have a lot of fun with them and got to use up some of the solids I had from shirts and charm packs.  No idea what to do for the quilting on this one.
Pezzy Zig Zag
I had a few Pezzy Prints charm packs and finally decided to use them.  This is the boys version and the girls version next weekend.  Keeping the ovals all in the right direction was a bit tough at times.  I know I'm going to need my seam ripper when I go to sew the blocks together.

  1. Chevrons are the rage right now and they make a great-looking quilt.

  2. I must try one of the zigzag quilts. They just look like so much fun! What makes a quilt a double disappearing 9 patch? the solids look good in this.

  3. Love both the quilts! I haven't seen a double disappearing ninepatch before either. Impressed with your efforts to keep the ovals heading the right way. Though I love the results, not a fan of using directional prints for just that reason!

  4. Keep that seam ripper handy, but call it your reverse sewing machine instead! Helps keep a positive vibe going when you have to use it. :)

  5. D9P done modern -- what a different look! Good luck keeping all those HSTs in the Pezzy Patch lined up properly.

  7. Wow! great quilts! it's amazing how setting the blocks on point makes the d9p look so different. I too am jumping on the chevron bandwagon and started cutting fabric for a chevron quilt too. :) love them!
