DWM 4/22 - a finish and a flimsy

I have a finish.  This one is going to be either a QOV quilt or a Happy Chemo quilt for H2H.  Hmm, is it a happy enough quilt to go Happy Chemo?  Not sure on that one, guy quilts are so hard.  See the back, that was part of my find at the estate sale that I found over the weekend, Still feel like a won the lottery with that one!  I had enough of that blue for the back of the quilt, the binding and I still have about 1.75 yards left of it!!  Here's Plaid Obesession #1,

and the back, I used this pantograph on 3 quilts in the week :)

And I manage to get a flimsy together for Hands 2 Help - it's not too late to join in the fun. Check out the button on the side.  I'm calling this one Twinkle.  It's borderless I tried 2 shops and couldn't find anything close.  I had this layer cake around forever and just didn't know what to do with it. Then suddenly it came together.  That layer cake is so done!! I've also added the EQ7 file if you're interested - can be found here

And there's a free trial of Art n Stitch software for those that like to make their own quiliting patterns.  I'm going to give it a try - take a look at what Carla did at Feathered Fibers with this SW Has anyone else used it?  Given the price not likely to be in my future, but I do like a free trial :)

DWM 3/18 - can we have one more day for the weekend, please??

What a great quilting in weekend.  I finished up the Irish Chain, my oldest UFO ever by a very very long shot, over 10 years old. But that baby is done!!  I finished one of the plaid obsessions.  I have all the string ready for the second one and working on the sashing and nine patches.

Then I got distracted by Pinterest where I was so inspired by this  beauty.  I say this and unfortunately it's not linked to anyone's blog or web site.  I tried tracing back to see where it came from, but wsn't really sure I hit the right place.
quilter unknown but would love to know who is quilting this so wonderfully
As I looked closer I thought, wait a minute, I have those blocks!!  30 of them from a block swap.  So guess what I did, yep it's together and on the frame now :)  I don't know if I'll be able to make mine as gorgeous as that one but I'm gonna try. Wish I knew who did the quilting on that one, I'd love to drop them a note and get pinterest linked to the right person

30s Repo - needs a name
Boy I tried turning off the word verification but the spam is just awful, had to turn it back on.

Plaid Obsession and QOV

Terri from MI sent me another QOV that I finished up this week.  I just love this one.  The red and white material is not really pieced but I did STID as if it was.  Nice stripes.  And then free had feathers in the blue and setting triangles.  Continuous curve on the Star and feathers in the background of the star blocks.  This one went pretty fast.   So fine on top, bottom line in the bobbin and Hobbs 80/20 batting.  Pattern In Honor of http://www.fonsandporter.com/articles/In_Honor_Of_patriotic_quilt_of_valor_quilt

And here's Easy Street all pieced and ready to quilt.  I just have to quilt something that's on the top of my "waiting to be quilted list" first..  Easy street turned out pretty big, 102ish square.  I think I'll do a panto on this one.  And yes I have one of those four patches sitting the wrong way and I'm just going to leave it :)  My grey is light enough it just blends in.

I started something new last week, just love this one.  I've wanted to make this quilt for so long.  I have enough strings to possibly make 3!  I can never estimate how many are needed.  This one definitely has a red, white and plue theme to it.  Maybe QOV donations, hmm that or Happy Chemo.

Plaid Obsession

I've wanted to make this quilt ever since I first saw it on Julie Ks blog   I have a couple of friends who have been saving shirts for me and finally had enough different plaids to make this.  Ha, I think I cut enough strings for 3 of these quilts.  Which will be nice to have for donation quilts for guys, those always seem to be in short supply in my sewing room ;)

My husband was home yesterday and decided he wanted to help, holy smokes!  And help he did. We got 53 string blocks completed, 110 sashing blocks and a good start on the 9 patches.  I really was fun having him help :)  Today I'm going to try to get those 9 patches finished and the rows together.  What fun.
