Oh Boy I went to add the giveaway and I lost everything in the orignial post. Hmmm, well I'll try to recreate, but we'll see. First off Happy Mothers' day to all the moms out there. You know Mom upside down is woW, just saying :)
Ok sewcation has officially come to an end. I finished 2 more Hi quilts (Nov/Dec 2013 issues of Quiltsy). Love these, 12 fat quarters, some back ground fabric and a few grey 2.5 in squares and you have a 61 x 78 quilt - enough scraps left from the blocks for a super cute scrappy binding. Here's on finished, fabric is the rest of Glimma bundle and a few from my stash. Pantograph is tea lights. I wanted something leafy but a bit feminine to go with the fabrics and Tea Lights by Patricia Ritter and Valerie Smith was just right. Batting the usual - Hobbs 80 20, Glide thread on top, I used a light grey and bottom line in the bobbin. A medium grey. This one puts me a at 6/9 for Hands to Help. Only a few weeks left to reach my goal of 3 per charity. I know I can do it.

these plum colors photograph much more brown than they really are |
|
Why is it so hard to get a true picture of purple/plum. This is way brighter than it really is. |
The last "hi" quilt was using the last 12 Kate Spain Serenade bundle. I LOVE those fabrics.
Now what you're really waiting for the giveaway. Oh man there over at Sew Mama Sew the whole world is giving things away, ok maybe not the *whole world* but a whole lotta crafty folks are so head on over there and see what there is to be won. But first if you want to win two super cute charm packs of An Apple a Day, then just leave a comment. That's it just say Hi or what ever is on your mind. I'll pick a random winner on 5/16 end of day from those who leave a comment. Now go ahead leave a comment and head over there. And when you're done with those give aways, check out the linky parties on the side bar.

ReplyDeleteHello there! I love to see your quilting.
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting into quilting, but since I've been sewing for over 45 years, I'm a confirmed and unapologetic fabric junkie.
ReplyDeleteI am saying HI!!! That one quilt you have there with the squares..that one intrigues me. I am not a scrappy quilter but dont' want to waste scraps...that is a good way to use them (with the sashing and litttle square between the rectangles) and not look scrappy. I wll add it to my "to do " list!
