DWM - Black Sea grand block

Now that hands 2 help is done, I got to work on a few of my projects.  I couldn't decide if I wanted to work on the Old Friends BOM from Calico Girls or Black Sea so I worked on both.  I'm kinda pleased with the progress.  I have the first "grand block" completed for Black Sea (Judy Martins Aegean Sea), only 9 more to go.  I like in the black and grays.  It's hard to see but there is just a tiny bit of blue in the middle of those stars.  IT's a 27 in finished block, it's definitely "grand".

Block 8 came out for Old Friends Bom, I got that one done and figured out the last one.  Now I  have all the sampler blocks done.  I've got about 60 of the 80 nine patches done.  How about that being a step ahead of the game.

Nothing more done on the truck quilt.  I did get a fun book that has some great ideas for the borders, but that's gonna have to wait for another day.  Don't forget to check out all the linky parties on the side bar, some thing for everyday of the week!

  1. Love the Old Friends BOM, particularly the solids and the framing. Look forward to seeing that one put together with the 9-patches. That Black Sea block is mighty grand, indeed! So interesting to look at!

  5. Wow! You have been VERY busy. I'm not sure which project to comment on first. They are all beautiful. I am a big fan of anything Judy Martin. I learned to quilt after getting one of her quilt books in an introductory collection from Doubleday--MANY years ago. The trucks quilt is darling...and black and bright together is always a stunning combination. All of your projects are beautiful.

  6. Love your Black Sea. It is going to be stunning and I can imagine all the fabulous quilting you will be putting into the white space. The solid fabrics really shine in that picture. (Is that the Old Friends BOM?) Nicely done this week.
