Design Tables Monday

I've got 650 HSTs done, and 190 more to go.  I'm making a queen size version of joanandmikesquarepants, this one is called Lorisquarepants.  She's coming into town the week of 8/10 - so I better get busy huh?  It's gonna be a close one.  There's close to 100 different fabrics in this one, blues, reds, greens and browns.  She wanted tall greens, but I just couldn't do it.  And I thought if I have enough different fabrics in there may be she won't notice :)  I do have more greens than anything else, but I have a feeling you won't be able to tell.  I hope all those different fabrics work well together and there isn't a sore thumb.  I don't think I've ever used this many different fabrics.  I feel like I cheated on these.  Not only did I use the go cutter, but I layered the fabric so the right sides were together.  All I had to do was sew these.  I am definitely in love with my go cutter!  And that jelly roll was inspiration for me.  I kept telling myself if I finished all those HSTs, I would let be allowed to play with those cherry strips for just a little while.  Didn't get them done but maybe next weekend.

And I have a finish.  I was going to send this off to happy chemo, but then I remembered I have a chemo situation right here that could use some happy. My sister in law is going back in for chemo.  I sure hope this time it really works.  I have one of the Hi quilts left over to donate and I'm giving this one to her, filled with lots of love and warm thoughts.  Details on the quilt - Hobbs 80/20 batting (hmm surprised?)  Perma Soft thread (my new favorite) on top, bottom line in the bobbin, fabrics from the Kate Spain Serenade line. Wait, I just realized now that this one is finished, I don't have anything on my "waiting to be quilted list".  I really need to get to that jelly roll :)
HI #3 - Hobbs 8020 batting, Tea Lights Panto -Patricia Ritter - Perma soft 50 st thread (my new thread infatuation) Bottom line in the bobbin
nice brigh Orange on the back, love that pantograph
Check out all the linky parties on the side bar, more than one for every day, definitely some wonderful inspiration out there

  2. Lots of HST love going on - I laughed at your piles on the rulers because that's what I do, too. Yes, you need that quilt right to home and I wish her all the best and many gentle hugs.

  4. Hope all goes well for your SIL and that she will have a speedy recovery. Love your fabrics. It's a great idea to use your go cutter. Mine is just sitting collecting dust at the moment since there's no room to take it out. I designed a quilt 10 years ago using mostly half square triangles and by the time I was done, it was over 1000 pieces for a King size quilt. Thank goodness for triangles on a roll :-)

  10. That panto looks great. It looks a lot like one I just bought from Patricia but I don't think it is the same. I'm going to look into your newest favorite thread. I'm sure your SIL will feel the hugs wrapped in her quilt. May the therapy work completely this time.
