Not a lot going on in the sewing room this weekend. Little Smiles stopped by on Saturday for the day. So I spent the whole day just watching him while he slept. He didn't seem to mind and well, there's only so much that you can do at 15 days :) I did get some practice runs done before he arrived. I'm trying to see what will work and what won't for Steve and Lindsey's wedding quilt. I think I found things I liked and things that just weren't gonna work. And really what else can you use mint green fabric with dog bones on it for other than practice.
I did get quite a bit of marking done on the quilt. The outer border and the largest of the squares is done, the second largest 1/2 done and I couldn't take any more, I had to sew!! I tried to get a couple more swoon blocks done, but that didn't happen either. But look at the bonus triangles I get from the swoon blocks, 8 of each. I get 32 bonus HSTs from each block and I'm hopefully making 16 blocks, we'll see how I feel once I get to 9. But if I do all 16, that's 512 HSTs. I really hope there are enough scraps to do the chunky pinwheels, but we'll see.
Don't forget to stop by Judy's to see what everyone else is doing.
Even your practic looks wonderful! Love when you get bonus bits from another project - look for a fun pinnie.
