Stippling

Look at me, I'm stippling!!  Just kidding, don't laugh, but it's a pantograph.  Yep, that's the only way I can stipple this big.  I figure after I do this about a hundred times I might be able to do it without a pantograph.  But I LIKE it!!  Ok so this is one of those super simple, get three yards of fabric, two cuts and you have 3 different baby quilts.  It's a Quilt Maker pattern that's free  here   Can you guess which one is missing? Only able to get two done.  These are all flannel, front back and binding.  Hobbs 80/20 batting, Glide thread on top, bottom line in the bobbin.  Mine measure 34 x 40 before washing.  I have some ready to go with cars and street signs.  So fun and so fast.

Wasn't that an awesome giveaway week at Sew Mama Sew?  I know I had a lot of fun and the lucky winner of two Apple a Day charm packs goes to 176 - Carrie M - congrats Carrie, I've sent an email to get your information.

  1. I had to laugh at the panto meander when you do such intricate quilting. This is perfect for these little quilts. We had someone demo this about 4 yrs. ago at our quild.

  2. Stippling is the first thing I learned when I started quilting on my domestic machine. I love using it when I want the quilt done really quick.
    Love your quilt!

  3. I still don't see how you can do it in fewer than four cuts. But it sure makes a nice fast baby quilt.

  4. Such sweet baby blankets. I can see how cuddly they are. I had to chuckle about the pantograph, but whatever it takes. :)

  5. Someone local does it with a panto too. In fact all she does is pantos. She does not like free motion at all. I say do what works for you.

  6. I agree with Jasmine "whatever it takes" to get the effect you want. This is a wonderful way to do up some easy baby quilts. They're simply adorable.

  7. Thanks for reminding me about that Quiltmaker baby quilt. I think I will suggest it for a baby quilt sewing day. Your stippling looks great. Every once and awhile I like an easy stipple a la panto!
