Last day of sewcation

Yesterday was not nearly as productive as day 1.  I found all the rows for my QST quilt in the old sewing room.  They were nicely displayed on the design wall. But you know I let my husband more the design wall all by himself.  All the rows were neatly placed over a step ladder in a perfect position to be ignored for weeks on end!  But I spotted them and they are not all together.  It took me literally all day to sew the rows together and add the three borders.  Now if I would just teach myself how to miter the borders I think I could save gobs of time.  I'm not a pinner but I religiously pin boarders.  And I have to the slowest pinner ever. But it's all together now and just needs a backing.  This is a pretty big one and will go to H2H.  I saw this one on Brynn Sews blog and knew I had to have one.

The first day of sewcation I cut out all the blocks for 3 of these quilts, pattern is Hi by Tony Jacobson in the Nov/Dec 2013 copy of Quilty magazine.  This is super super easy.  I can't wait to get one quilted to see if I like it as much.   I cut out 3 and have one together all but the borders.

Check out the linky parties on the side bar, they're listed by day, lots to look at on Fridays

  4. How frustrating! I love your "Hi" quilt. I might need to make this since I have a layer cake laying around that would make a great service quilt.

  7. Beautiful quilt tops. Have you ever done y-seams before? That is all mitered corners are.
