Applique Tuesday - Common Bride progress

Woohoo I have something for Applique Tuesday.  Got everything glued down on the center block, just need to stitch it.  So what's best for the stitching of the applique?   Mono filament thread or a thin thread of similar color like bottom line?  This is my first time doing the freezer paper applique.

Stop by and Angie's to see what others are doing - she's doing Love Entwined, and it looks awesome!!

  1. This is amazing. I don't do a lot of applique so can't help you out with your question

  2. Beautiful!!! Are you doing the applique by machine? I always try with the finest thread I can for applique and prefer something like the fine Invisafil over the monofilament. However I haven't done a huge amount and maybe a different brand monofilament would work better, and I know others prefer that. It also depends if I have the right colours on hand!! Sorry not much help!!!

  4. Beautiful quilt but no ideas on the thread. I've never liked the clear threads but honestly haven't tried any for several years.

  9. What a marvelous job you are doing with Common Bride - so beautiful. I'd visit McKenna Ryan's blog - she has a great tutorial for raw edge applique. And thanks for linking to Applique Tuesday!
