Woohoo I have something for Applique Tuesday. Got everything glued down on the center block, just need to stitch it. So what's best for the stitching of the applique? Mono filament thread or a thin thread of similar color like bottom line? This is my first time doing the freezer paper applique.

This is amazing. I don't do a lot of applique so can't help you out with your question
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Are you doing the applique by machine? I always try with the finest thread I can for applique and prefer something like the fine Invisafil over the monofilament. However I haven't done a huge amount and maybe a different brand monofilament would work better, and I know others prefer that. It also depends if I have the right colours on hand!! Sorry not much help!!!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is such a work of art...stunning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt but no ideas on the thread. I've never liked the clear threads but honestly haven't tried any for several years.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty quilt!

That's a lot of work! Lovely applique too!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be one stunning quilt, I love your colour choice. Are you going to do the applique by machine??? Feather on a Wire blog has a few wonderful tips by machine...... her work is amazing! Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous job you are doing with Common Bride - so beautiful. I'd visit McKenna Ryan's blog - she has a great tutorial for raw edge applique. And thanks for linking to Applique Tuesday!
