H2H final Link Up
I have nothing more on the design wall. The weather has been nice and we've had birthdays and graduations, lots of parties this season and not much sewing.
I did learn how to make a mosaic which was fun. I used http://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php which was super easy.
Here's all my quilts for H2H - 4 in total, 2 for each charity.
And I just found out that the quilt in my header was nominated for best baby quilt in the Bloggers Quilt Festival. http://amyscreativeside.com/2012/05/28/bloggers-quilt-festival-vote-now/ Go take a look and cast your vote for all your favorites :) If you want to see the details of the baby owl quilt, take a look at this post: http://suedaurio.blogspot.com/2012/05/bloggers-quilt-festival-spring-2012.html There are so many awesom quilts in the festival this Spring, over 600. I feel pretty honored that baby Smiles quilt was nominated :)

Whooping it up on Friday
well I have no sewing at all this week. But I do have something to whoop about, look what Kat from Scrapbox Quilts gifted to me. Oh my goodness!! Isn't it gorgeous????? I can not wait to get this on the frame and quilt it. It just fits so perfectly with the decor at my house. And that's not all she sent enough fabric that I can make matching placemats. Thanks Kat!!

Bloggers Quilt Festival - Spring 2012
It's that time again. Amy's Creative side is hosting the Spring Bloggers Quilt festival. Amy has created this virtual quilt show to coincide with Quilt Market in the spring and fall of each year. For those of us unable to go to Quilt Market, it gives us a wonderful opportunity to share and be inspired by other's quilts. I encourage you to hop over to Amy's site and submit a quilt of your own, and then make sure you take a look all all the incredible quilts that are linked!
My entry for the Spring Quilt Festival is a quilt I made for my newest grandson (Mr. Smiles). Yep it's the one in my header. My daughter worked on this project with me and it's really all her idea. Last Mother's day we went to Quiltology in Chicago and she feel in love with some owl fabric. Well guess what the theme was for the nursery. Yep, Owls. I had no idea what to do with owls. But hey we had months to figure it out :) She found an artist on line, Lee Arthaus, who had fabulous prints of Owls. We used those as the basis for baby Smiles quilt. The blocks are fused machine applique. I used a satin stitch and blanket stitch around all the applique. My daughter traced, fused and cut. I sewed and sewed. And here I have all the blocks in one post. I don't think I've done that yet. I hope you like the quilt that my daughter and I made, I think baby Smiles does.

DWM and H2H Check in
Anna's Rainbow Quilt |
Garden Party - H2H quilt #4 |
Garden Party back |
Garden Party is done. I used a new panto for this one Fanfare Grande by Patricia E. Ritter. It was a bit harder for me, those swirls were a challenge, but I'm getting better. I like how it turned out. I think you can see the quilting on the back a bit better. This is the last of my H2H quilts.
And it's check in time for H2H so I'm showing all the quilts together here - I'm all done, all washed and just need to get them in the mail. So I just finished Garden Party above, I think this one will go to Happy Chemo. The other Happy Chemo quilt will be Venetian Dream . The two that will go to Nola are the Half Moon Modern Log Cabin and the other solid squares quilt with no name:) Then since I was able to get 2 for each charity. I made one for Sarah's quilt Ministry, Kitty Korner. I used the block that I designed from the block challenge she had a while ago. I wanted to make the squares and donate to her ministry, but I just kept going and finished it off. These were finished in previous weeks, just the first time they are all in one place.

And Baby Smiles needs some hooded towels so we made three. So easy to make, I use a regular bath towel and a hand towel. One hand towel can actually make two hooded towels. I cut a square 12-14 inches, then cut that in half on the diagonal. Add something cute to the triangle. I used fusible and a blanket stitch. Just round the corners of the towel and the hand towel triangle, cut off the ends of the bath towel if they are bigger than 1/4 inch. I sew the triangle to the bath towel with 1/8 generous seams. Then just add some binding and you've got an adorable hooded towels.
Lots of inspiration go check out these linkey parties:
