Direction to my Heart Pattern
This is the first time that I've ever tried to put a pattern together. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. If you do make this I would LOVE to see a picture of your quilt.
For the paper piecing for both options, I used 8.5 x14 paper that is readily available at office supply stores. Set you printer to "legal" paper rather than "letter" and it should work like a charm.
The EQ7 project file, if you prefer that, click here for the download.
If you want the PDF version (for those that don't have EQ7, there are a number of files that you will need:
Direction to my Heart - picture of the quilt
Instructions - step by step directions and decoder ring for the files
Compass Part 1 - the actual compass part of the center block
Compass Part 2 - the flying geese and the blue part
Flying Geese - only needed if you want to paper piece them
Radiant Beauties
Log Cabin - rotatory cutting directions.

Thanks, Sue! I'm glad it worked for you - I'm going to download these and save.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a beautiful quilt.
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI've downloaded to EQ7, just in case I ever have the courage to try it... I'm impressed that you were able to figure out and assemble such a complex piece! Congratulations!
Thanks so much for the pattern Sue. When you first posted it on CyberQuilters it took my breath away. I am going to do it using your second setting option - wish me the best! hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
This is an absolutely amazing quilt. It's way beyond my skills, which makes me appreciate the work you put into it even more.
ReplyDeleteYou are so very generous to share your gorgeous pattern with us! It is amazing and I can't wait to make it!! Wow!!! Thanks so much! Big hugs, Deb (Quiltbeeme)
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess I'm a bit of a do-do bird. Can you tell me how to print from the pdf version? I see the pattern, but can't figure out what options to pick to get the print option. Yeah, I'm a technically challenged 58 year old. My apologies.
