Getting my feather fix

Its' been a while since I've quilted feathers so it was nice to get back at it!  Here's a quilt done by a cousin for her new grand daughter.  Isn't that an adorable pattern for the top?  I just love it.   Some simple continuous curves on the nine patches and feathers as a background fill for the applique areas.  I love feathers as back ground fill.

The back is this super soft pink minky with little stars on it, so yummy

  2. Your quilting on this is beautiful! Have you ever thought of posting videos? I am sure it would be a lot of work but I would love to see it :). I wouldn't know how to even mark the spines to do feathers like this.

  8. Questions: what do you mark with? do you use a template for the CC or do it freehand? Do you keep the ruler base on all the time?

For echoing: I think Deloa and a couple of other people have rulers that they attach to the hopping foot that gives them better control. I never think about getting one until I have something already on the frame and don't want to wait for something to arrive in the mail. Maybe I should send for one today since the chickens are going on this week. ;-)
