DWM - A proper one this time - updated

Yep that's right, I actually HAVE something on my design wall :) Took a trip to IN so that meant more work on the hexies.  I'm almost getting excited about this one.  Like the progress that has been made but no idea what comes next.  It'll be a while before the next trip so I have some time to think about this one.  Any helpful hints, greatly appreciated.
And I have a t-shirt quilt in progress. Now I do like the t-shirt quilts, I just don't like making them.  I did manage to get the front blocks cut and interface ironed on.  I sure hope this is the last one.

One of these days when the kids ask me to do something that I really don't want to do, I'll just say no.  But that isn't today.  Today I'm making a t-shirt quilt because my youngest daughter asked me to do it.  How can you say no to that?

Ok we have a quilt top, you know what that means right? The fun is about to begin, the quiting!!

  1. I love the look of the hexie quilts, but this is something I will stand back and look at - not make. I have helped my daughter do T-shirt quilts - she loves to make them.

  2. I wondered how people got t-shirt quilts to work - I guess the interfacing is the trick - what a kind mother you are! Like your hexies so far..!

  3. I like how you have used the white hexies to set off the blue. It really is very nice. I really love the star shape that is forming.

  11. Your T-Shirt quilt is looking great!
So are your Hexies! Hexes are sew fun to work with. To speed up the process and increase accuracy, have you tried Inklingo? It is so much faster than EPPing! You can sew the hexies together by hand and/or machine... love that! The info is: www.Inklingo.com [I have no affiliation, I'm just a very happy user!]

  12. A couple of times I have thought about making a t-shirt quilt but have waited until the thought passed on. DH was supposed to cut the fronts of several t's and give them to me but he cut the design out only so he didn't get a quilt. ;-)

  14. Both great projects! With the hexies it depends what size it is. Is it big enough to be a table topper? I love that it is right now a hexagon. How about another row of white around the edge?

  15. First time visiting your blog (through Fabric Tuesday). The hexies look really fun - I have yet to embrace EPP, but I'm sure I will before the end of the year because everyone seems to make such neat stuff from them. I also really love your t-shirt quilt. Honestly most of the t-shirt quilts I have seen lack in design sensibility or just look like a bunch of knit squares - but I love how you made a shadow effect - very cool! I will be following in the future to see what other quilts and more hexies you make!

  17. I love your quilts-- the colors are great in the hexagon one and the borders make the t-shirt quilt really interesting and brings it together. Great job!

  18. I'm just loving your hexie design. The white "sashing" really sets it off. I know what you mean about t-shirt quilts, but at least you have the top finished. Your daughter will love it.
