DWM - 5/19

Not a lot of sewing going on this weekend.   We finally had a wonderful weekend, no rain, great temps, could Spring finally be here?  Keep in mind it did snow here on 5/16.  I sure how that was the last one of the season.  I did finish a small baby blanket, this is a modified Modern Mirrors, ended up 46 x 50 which is a nice size.  And I did get over 27 miles on the bike this weekend so very happy with that.

And don't forget about Bloggers Quilt Festival - here's my entry  Stop by and see all the wonderful quilts and if  you don't have one in, get one in there.

Stippling

Look at me, I'm stippling!!  Just kidding, don't laugh, but it's a pantograph.  Yep, that's the only way I can stipple this big.  I figure after I do this about a hundred times I might be able to do it without a pantograph.  But I LIKE it!!  Ok so this is one of those super simple, get three yards of fabric, two cuts and you have 3 different baby quilts.  It's a Quilt Maker pattern that's free  here   Can you guess which one is missing? Only able to get two done.  These are all flannel, front back and binding.  Hobbs 80/20 batting, Glide thread on top, bottom line in the bobbin.  Mine measure 34 x 40 before washing.  I have some ready to go with cars and street signs.  So fun and so fast.

Wasn't that an awesome giveaway week at Sew Mama Sew?  I know I had a lot of fun and the lucky winner of two Apple a Day charm packs goes to 176 - Carrie M - congrats Carrie, I've sent an email to get your information.

Bloggers Quilt Festival

I'm entering my budding nine patch in the bloggers quilt festival. This was one of my happiest mistakes ever.  It was *suppose* to be a blooming nine patch. But I didn't quite get the blooming part and only used half of the nine patches required, so not quite a bloom more like a bud, thus budding nine patch.   I have the pattern in tutorials link, but only in EQ7 sorry.  It's really not hard to figure out though. The squares are 3.5 in and I just alternate them.  Here's some pictures

Stop by Amy's and see all the rest of the amazing quilts and if you haven't entered yet, get something in there!  Lots and lots of prizes!!

Happy Mother's Day and an end to a very productive sewcation + a giveaway!!

Oh Boy I went to add the giveaway and I lost everything in the orignial post.  Hmmm, well I'll try to recreate, but we'll see.  First off Happy Mothers' day to all the moms out there.  You know Mom upside down is woW, just saying :)

Ok sewcation has officially come to an end.  I finished 2 more Hi quilts (Nov/Dec 2013 issues of Quiltsy).  Love these, 12 fat quarters, some back ground fabric and a few grey 2.5 in squares and you have a 61 x 78 quilt - enough scraps left from the blocks for a super cute scrappy binding.  Here's on finished, fabric is the rest of Glimma bundle and a few from my stash.  Pantograph is tea lights.  I wanted something leafy but a bit feminine to go with the fabrics and Tea Lights by Patricia Ritter and Valerie Smith was just right.  Batting the usual - Hobbs 80 20, Glide thread on top, I used a light grey and bottom line in the bobbin.  A medium grey. This one puts me a at 6/9 for Hands to Help.  Only a few weeks left to reach my goal of 3 per charity.  I know I can do it.

these plum colors photograph much more brown than they really are

Why is it so hard to get a true picture of purple/plum.  This is way brighter than it really is.
The last "hi" quilt was using the last 12 Kate Spain Serenade bundle.  I LOVE those fabrics.

Now what you're really waiting for the giveaway.  Oh man there over at Sew Mama Sew the whole world is giving things away, ok maybe not the *whole world* but a whole lotta crafty folks are  so head on over there and see what there is to be won.  But first if you want to win two super cute charm packs of An Apple a Day, then just leave a comment.  That's it just say Hi or what ever is on your mind.  I'll pick a random winner on 5/16 end of day from those who leave a comment.  Now go ahead leave a comment and head over there.  And when you're done with those give aways, check out the linky parties on the side bar.
