It's time for a give away!!!!!

Wow, I can't believe that I hit 100 followers this week.  I'm amazed and thankful to all of you.   I have to say that I've been blogging for a little over a year and have grown so much from the online community. Just want to say "thanks" with a little bit of a give away.I have an extra copy of M'Liss Rae Hawley's "Fat Quarter Quilts".   And I'm going to throw in 4 fat quarters.

    I don't have a particular favorite fabric when it comes to scrapping - but red makes it pop, black frames, and white will tame it!

    My favorite scrappy focus has been whatever I was doing at the time. This summer I HAD to use a stack of deep blues and tans in a quilt. Another time I wanted all my florals gone from my stash. Soon I will start one from old feedsack scraps I found while cleaning out my parents' home and then it will be a red and cream.

    I always add a touch of black...and always solid prints to my scrap quilts. Gives a place for your eyes to rest.

    I follow your blog and truly enjoy it. I love scrappy quilts so I can use up leftovers from all the other quilts I make. My favorite color materials seems to all have orange in them somewhere. So I am on an orange kick. Thank you for the opportunity to win a new quilting book.

    Scrap quilts make me anxious. All those fabrics hanging out together willy-nilly. I'm getting better though. I've been making mono-chromatic crazies from bright batik scraps left over from my applique.

    I'm a follower now! What fabric do I like best in scrappy quilts? Is "all of them" acceptable? I've made scrappy quilts with batiks, with 30's, with 19th c repros, Christmas-themed, and on and on.

    Several years ago I made a rail fence in graded black/white fabrics and red -- using the same fabrics throughout. I was somewhat uncomfortable as I sewed, but not until I had finished did I realize that my discomfort was because I'd
    used only five different fabrics. (The design wouldn't have worked as well with a huge assortment, but I regard that quilt as the exception that proved my rule: the more fabrics in a quilt, the better!)

    when making a scrappy quilt, I love bright colors! my favorite color is blue and red, I usually have lots of blue fabrics, and it seems my red stash disappears quickly or shrinks to a SMALL pile

    I made a bunch of strip crib size quilts last year. About 13. I was practicing FMQ. They were all flannel strips, leftovers from years of Christmas pjs and other projects. I loved the softness, color and general cuddliness of the flannel.Then I gave them to the hospital pediatric wing and the Women's Crisis Center. I was warmed twice once by the sewing and again my the gifting. Thanks for the giveaway.

    I like almost all of the Moda lines, in brights or greyed brights. Lots of floral, dots, checks, stripes, swirls, you get the idea. NO BATIKS

    I love using small scale prints in scrappy quilts since they read mostly solid from a distance (showing off the quilt pattern) and close up you get a full view of the fabric pattern even though the pieces are small.

    Fabrics in my scrap quilts vary, depending on what I have available, and what I'm making. Generally though, probably earth tone colors. Thanks. Quilted blessings, Nita

    I love pastels. They are soft and cozy to me year round. Using a flannel on the back (always) and lovely pastels (esp rose patterns) on the front, and I'm in hook line and sinker.

    i am always amazed and delighted with other'scolour combinations of scraps; I use alot of solids and seem tonlove the way black sets off the bright colours

    I like something to allow the eye to rest on, like a solid or something that reads solid. I love Scrappy quilts and in all colors other than that.
