Design Wall Monday - first of 2015

I started my first BOM.  This is Old Friends from Calico Gals.  It's a big one finishing at 108x108, the blocks are 18.5 inches.  I've got the first 3 months done and ready to go.  hmm I"m not liking that dark purple on the double pin wheel block. I just may take that out of the palette for this one.  I'm using charcoal for the background. I think it's a little softer and warmer than black. I think I might start on the 9 patches while I'm finishing up Marie's square pants quilt.  Almost 1/2 done with that.
Old Friends BOM - Calico Gals

I've been noticing that when I leave comments on some blogs that the yahoo email gets rejected. I've got my google account set up with my yahoo email (right, who does that besides me? no one).  Anyone know why?  Not sure if it's google rejected or receivers host server.

Hope everyone has a great week.  We got  a little bit of snow last night, and expecting 10 inches by Tuesday morning.  Yep, it's January!!
First real snow of the season, just a couple of inches, view from the front porch.
Check out the linky parties on the side bar.  Something for every day of the week!

  1. I have trouble leaving comments on some blogs too - some just won't let me leave one - not sure what I am doing wrong

  2. Great blocks! I've had little success, as well, when it comes to my Google and Yahoo a accounts working together.

  3. Your blocks are great. This looks like it is going to be a fun BOM to make. I don't receive emails for a number of comments left on my blog and a number of emails for my comments are sent back as undeliverable. It makes it difficult to respond to comments when the emails don't arrive. I don't know what is going on, either.

  4. Your blocks are looking good! I can see that this will make a beautiful rendition of the pattern. The pattern is lovely with the black background, but I was interested in making it with light background. I played with it in EQ, and it just didn't call to me as much. You are using the perfect combo for this quilt, and you are having fun, no doubt.

  5. Love those bright colors. The charcoal looks good with them.

  6. I like the blocks! Of course, I've always been a fan of bright colors with dark backgrounds anyway... but your work is perfect, and that's a plus as well! As for the blog mail, I've noticed that a lot of mine goes "mail undelivered" as well, and it's not a yahoo account. Maybe our blogs only like google accounts. LOL!

  7. A lot of my comments bounce back to me too. I am using a Yahoo address, so who knows?
