DWM - A day off deserves a giveaway!

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Baby Boy Tube Quilt.

I've got a couple of things on my design wall.  Trying to use up some more of those 2.5 in strips and a layer cake that was laying around.  The first is a tube quilt using 2.5 in strips, it's baby size and used up a few that I had laying around.  Second is inspired by a quilt I saw @ Brynn Sews  This was her entry in the Spring 2012 Bloggers Quilt Festival.  I just love this one!!  I had a couple of 15 fat quarter bundles that I put together and added a few solids and I got 3 quilts out of that group of fat quaters.  This was is a bit larger than I really wanted, but I also did want any scraps from that bundle and this used up every last bit!  Just need to sew the rows together and through on the borders and done!

My 300th post is the next post and I want to have a give away.  I'm thinking either a fat quarter bundle or giving away quilting - an edge to edge design for up to a queen size quilt.  What do you think, fabric or quilting?  Everyone loves yummy fabrics, but I really love the quilting :) UPDATE:  I'm so delighted that a number of you want quilting for the giveaway.  It's like an extra bonus for me.  I am going to offer the quilting and as a back up in case the person who wins just does not want the quilting, there will be a fat quarter bundle.  Don't forget to stop back on Friday for the giveaway!

Check the side bar for all the inspiring linky parties.  Hope everyone has a peaceful day in honor of MLK.

  1. As much as I love fabric, I think a quilting by you would be fabulous - even if an edge to edge! I love both quilts and I forget I have the tube ruler - should get that out and play with it.

  3. I would love to win your quilting! You do a fabulous job! And I love the tops - I've had a tube quilt on my list forever. I should slice up some of my yardage instead of waiting for the perfect jelly roll.

  8. Given the choice of fabric that I can get anywhere or quilting by you it's a no brainer. Quilting by you of course!

  9. I think I would pick quilting! That is a lot harder to come by:) and extra special! Congrats on 300! I hope I am around that long. I am curious about your quarter square triangles. What size squares did you start with? I really want to make one of these and yours looks fabulous!

  11. Ooh, I pick quilting for the giveaway! My 10-year-old just completed his very first quilt top and he is so proud of it. It is just a little bitty lap quilt size, but if I won the giveaway I would send you his top for quilting. He would feel like such a big shot. :-)

  14. Wow, checking your last posts: you have been busy! Love both new quilts and using up strips sounds like a great idea. As for fabric or quilting as a GA: both are fabulous! Your quilting is awesome (and I would be worried that my piecing wouldn't be good enough...)

  21. Pick me, pick me! I'd be happy with either. But I might actually take you up on the quilting, yeah, I know I have a long arm too.... but sometimes its a nice luxury to have someone else do the work! Congratulations on 300 posts, almost.

  22. I would love quilting but I don't know how that works with mail. Fabric is always appreciated, too. I don't have too much yet since I'm relatively new at this.
