Oh my I certainly didn't expect to get 5 string quilts out of my string bucket. But honestly, I think there's another 5 quilts in that bucket. I had some help from my sister this weekend, we got the pink done in a day!! There's still all of August and all of Sept to participate. See the button on the side bar for details, and there's prizes too!!
And there are so many strings left, look at that bucket. That bucket is not a small bucket though, 21 inches across the top and about 12 inches tall. 5 string quilts out of it and there are still so many left. They're just gonna have to wait for another day. I need to get these quilted and the binding on before starting another.100 Quilts for Kids - #5 |

ReplyDeleteWow, that bucket is prolific! Great job on the quilts. I just love string quilts. You are making so many kiddos happy.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Sue. I use a lot of strings for soldier quilts, and I STILL have more than I wish I did! But yours are sure NICE!
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern that shows up in your string quilts. Both are beautiful. Even if you didn't empty the bucket, at least you made a dent in it.
ReplyDeleteThe more I see these Stringy things, the more I think I want to make one!
ReplyDeleteWonderful string quilts. I really like them and they are so fun to make and then look good when you are finished. Great job.
ReplyDeleteWow....I love the bucket as well. I need to try some strings sometime.
ReplyDeleteThey are very cute. I do get tired of making the same old after several quilts and strings are the worst for me in the boredom department. They will have some great possibilities to try some fun quilting on them too. Adorable. PS the strings squish down in a bucket so they do keep growing buy fluffing up and then people sneak more in the bucket... you get the idea. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have done log cabin string blocks but not what you have. Could you tell me how big you made the blocks prior to cutting them? I am always on the lookout for idea for kids comfort quilts. TIA
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful quilt tops and I think strings "grow" while we sleep! Thanks for sharing.
