These beauties came from Judy in Paris IL. The Paris Bee Quilters made the sampler and Barb who is 82 years old made that gorgeous barn raising quilt. How inspiring!! If I'm quilting until I'm 82 I just might use up a good chunk of that stash :)
I used Dancing Stars panto by Barbra Becker. It's really cute, easy and forgiving. Which is exactly the kind of pantograph I need! Look at those fussy cut stars, don't they just really make the quilt? I just LOVE this one. I think Barb did a fantastic job on this one.
I had so much fun with the sampler. This was the first time I've done a quilt with all the blocks different. I had been so good with not quilting things to death and really I just couldn't help it this time. I NEEDED TO REALLY QUILT something. So I did :) Now, it is cotton batting and thin thread to it's soft and usable. Not as soft as the panto but hey, definitely usable. Ok enough said, here's the pictures. You can tell I had a lot of fun with this one, I took a lot of pictures :) Both quilts have quilters dreams 70/30 blend, bottom line in the bobbin and so fine on top.

Those are both beautiful! And I love the additional quilting in the one. I agree that it was screaming for it? All the different blocks, yep it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhoohoo Sue!!! Those are fantastic quilts and the quilting is really perfect for them :*) That's a very nice sampler with some unique blocks. I love the designs you quilted in the center squares of some of the blocks. And your pebbling is awesome!!!
